So, as you may have noticed (and I do hope someone has, because I’d hate to think I”m the only one coming to my blog. LOL) the site has been going through some changes. My wonderful boyfriend bought me Artisteer for my birthday and I’ve been playing with it ever since. I’ve created several different Wordpress Blog Themes for pagans with it, and will be giving them away for free soon. In the meantime I’m testing them out here on my blog to see how they look and work and I’ll probably pick one to be “My theme”, which will be the one that won’t be given out to other people. That’s why I don’t have the themes up for grabs just yet. If you have a theme idea you’d like to see, leave me a comment and I’ll try to work it out! Read the rest of this entry »
On July 25 the Las Vegas Pride Day committee put on an Ice Cream Social and Sock Hop. The event was a fundraiser for Las Vegas Pagan Pride Day - which will be held on November 7 2009. Along with raising funds for the LV Pagan Pride Day event, the social also gathered food donations for the local charity, Three Square - an organization established to end hunger in the valley.
This event was a resounding success! Not only did they raise a good amount of funds for the Pagan Pride Day, but they collected almost 150 pounds of food for Three Square. Along with purchasing tickets for a scoop of ice cream, you could also buy raffle tickets for great door prizes, dontated by local Pagan & Metaphysical stores, and raffle tickets for a generous prize donated by The Pointed Hat Society. The Pointed Hat Society donated a gorgeous amethyst pendant necklace made by a local pagan artist.
At the social I enjoyed listening to the 50’s & 60’s style music while dancing with my youngest son on the dance floor. I took both of my teen aged sons with me to meet other pagans in the area, enjoy the wonderful ice cream (much needed in the extreme heat of the Las Vegas summer season) and say hello to a few friends. We also were able to purchase a beautiful tote and T-shirt with the LV Pagan Pride day logo on it, Pagan Pride reminder bands, and the cook book created from the Las Vegas Pagan Pride Day Chili Cook-off Event. It was a great way to socialize with other local Pagans and get away from the heat, all while supporting a great cause.
