I was inspired to write this because of so many people talking about how
Christmas has become so commercialized and that everyone forgets the “true
meaning of Christmas”. What *IS* the true meaning of Christmas? Well if you
listen to Linus from peanuts, and many other people, they would say that it is
about the birth of Jesus and celebrating his birth.
ummmm.. sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but WRONG! First off Jesus was not born
in December. Most accounts have him born in late September early October… but
that isn’t a hard fact. Secondly it’s not when the 3 wise men came to see Jesus
either! Jesus wasn’t a baby when they saw him, he was at LEAST 3 years old!! It
took them at least three years to travel from their lands to where Jesus was in
Bethlehem… and they were ASTROLOGERS!! hehe.. so the whole thing of Christmas
being too commercialized and getting away from the “true” meaning of Christmas
is a bunch of bunk!
Christmas is the christianized version of another old pagan holy day, Yule, or
midwinter! The Winter Solstice, which is Dec. 21-23, depending on the year.
Everything that we do on Christmas, including the myth of Jesus’ birth, comes
from Old Pagan ways.
In almost all pre-Christian cultures, they celebrated the birth of the God
during Yule. They put up trees for decoration, and Santa is the Original “jolly
old *ELF*” which was a winter spirit! So we are celebrating Christmas like it
was supposed to be celebrated.. with Santa, with Trees, and giving to others.
Oh, and the reason for always having a huge feast at Yule was because this was
to bring all the villagers together, to remind each other that winter won’t
reign forever. To be merry through the dark days of the year! Yule was the
longest night, and there fore was the last night of the dark days. From that day
forward the days would get longer and warmer and new life would spring from the
dead earth. Reminding us that there is a cycle to life, and that nothing stays
gone and dark forever.
This will be my blog where I will be talking about “The Secret” and how it is working in my life. I’ve been studying “The Secret” and learning about it with my sisters. But I need more than just a couple of places where I can learn about it, I need someplace to expound and brainstorm on it. Where I can talk about my wishes out loud, and cry about my stumbles along the way. I hope that at the very least, someone can see that they aren’t the only ones going through these things.
Christine
I’ve been on a path of enlightenment for more than 18 years now. I’ve read literally tons of books, new age, spiritual, self-help, occult, and anything else I could get my hands on. They all say basically the same thing that “The Secret” does, but there is a difference in this book, something that none of the others have. That’s mass appeal.
Yes, there are some people who would say that it’s just more of the same, and to a certain extent, it is. However, this book puts the Universal Laws that I’ve read about many times before, in a way that makes it seem just a little more practical, a little more reachable. That’s why so many people have read the book, and why it has changed so many lives.
It doesn’t matter how many times you hear the same thing over again, what matters is when you stop hearing it, and start living it. Think back to when you were a teenager. I’m sure there is that one thing your parents kept drilling in your heads, that one thing that you HATED to hear, over and over. Now that you are an adult, you probably understand it better, maybe even heard the same words coming out of your mouth to your teenager. I know I have. The Secret is just like that. Not really “new” information, but it makes more sense now.
For a lot of people, it’s their first taste of some of the Universal Laws mentioned in the book. For them, this is a fantastic book. It doesn’t put any religious leanings in it, so it’ll appeal to just about everyone. It’s very easy to understand, and gives a lot of wonderful resources to expand further in your studies.
For the person who’s more familiar with the Universal Laws, this is a good quick read, like a refresher course. For me, it was like a confirmation of my beliefs and understandings. It also gave me very real, very easy techniques to implement into my everyday life.
So if you’re looking for something new, this really isn’t all that new. But if you’re looking for easy to understand, step by step guide, for the newbie or expert, this is a great book. I recommend this book to just about everyone I know.
The title of this post is a quote from the book “The Master Key System“, By Charles F. Haanel. Click on the link and you can download the book for free from “The Secret” website.
I’ve been studying this book with my sisters and some friends, and it has been very eye-opening! Things that I’ve heard or read many times before, are explained just a little bit better in this book, which was written in 1912. Can you imagine that? Almost 100 years ago, the concepts that we’re learning now, was being taught and explained. What happened? Did these lessons not get taught to enough people? No, I think that we just weren’t ready for it yet. I think, much like all children, we hadn’t hit “the age of reason”. We were still to young, to disconnected from each other. I know, so many people think that the internet is making us more disconnected from each other, but I disagree. I think that we’re becoming so much closer, closer than we’ve ever been.
I think that it has to do with two things. 1. Our bodies are filled with electrical currents, and we’re connecting to the internet through electrical currents. I think that because we are physically connecting to our computers, and connecting to the internet, that we’re able to make an indirect physical connection to each other, one on one. And 2. Because it’s deceptivelly “anonymous”, we tend to be more open, vulnerable, and true online, than we ever are in person. We give more of ourselves to each other because we aren’t seeing the reaction of the other person.
So that physical connection that brings us together, enhances the intimate emotional bond between the individuals who are connecting online. It’s that intamcy that is what’s needed for this new reality to come into being. It’s the invisible bond that we’ve always been in contact with, that we’ve made it “real” through these computers & the internet. Through sites like Co-Creating Our Reality, our connection to each other and to The Source are getting stronger. As that connection gets stronger, we get closer to creating the New Reality. That connection is the persistent concentration that is neccessary to accomplish our goal.
Exciting, isn’t it!
Co-Creating Our Reality I found this site last week on accident, and now it’s become one of my most treasured and most visited sites.
“Co-Creating Our Reality” (CCOR) is a global online community (75 countries represented) putting the law of attraction and other universal laws and principles to the test.”
Created by Lilou Mace, Sandy Grason, & Laura Duksta in 2005, to help all of the people in the world who wanted to create a new reality using the Universal Laws from “The Secret“. CCOR, as it’s lovingly known as, is a networking site where you can share your own challenges and insights, and get all the support you need to stay on track.
I’ve been learning about “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, for about 6 months now. I’ve read the book, watched the movie, and signed up on the website. My sister, who got me hooked on all of this, started up a google group to study ”The Master Key System“, by Charles F Haanel, that teaches the universal laws that are in “The Secret“. I’ve been studying, and trying my hardest to stay positive, to change the way I think, and therefore, change my life. However, it’s not easy staying constantly positive. Knowing that you can change your reaity, if you just believe it, is hard to sustain all the time. That is, until I found CCOR.
At the CCOR website, I have found the way to be able to stay positive, and help others as well. Whenever I am feeling down, overwelmed, and upset with the way life is going, I just set my browser to the CCOR website, and I find others who are having the same difficulties, people with insights and techniques to help me, and suddenly I”m feeling wonderful again. One of the lessons, in “The The Master Key System” is to surround yourself with positive people and positive thoughts. I can do this with CCOR, and so can you!
If you are wanting to change your life, and have read “The Secret” or even “A New Earth“, then you’ll want to go to Co-Creating Our Reality! I gaurantee you’ll find yourself on the site all the time!

These are my long term goals. I don’t know if some of them are maybe a little too ambitious for my very first 100 day challenge, but I figure “shoot for the moon – fall among the stars”. Either way, these are the ultimate goals that I’m working towards and every step counts.
Once upon a time there was darkness. And darkness was a happy creature. She
could fly and soar through space, and there was nothing to hinder her every
whim. She was quite content in this freedom for many many years. Until one day,
after soaring around, she realized that she couldn’t tell how fast she was
flying through space. Nor could she tell how far she traveled.
So the Dark Goddess thought and thought about what she could do to show speed
and distance. Soon the Dark Goddess realized that if she created time, that she
would be able to know how fast she was going. But then she realized that time
needs physical objects to count with. So the Goddess decided to create the
Universe.
She dotted the Darkness with beautiful stars all over. Painting many galaxies of
planets and stars and moons. The Goddess made all of the planets turning deosil
around all the suns, and all the moons turned deosil around the planets. And all
the solar systems went deosil around to make pretty swirls in the sky. Pretty
soon, there wasn’t just darkness around the Goddess, there were beautiful jewels
all around her.
The great Dark Goddess looked around her was smiled! She was pleased! She had
created something magickal, beautiful. And now as she soared through the
darkness she could see how fast she was going, and how far she traveled. The
stars would create beautiful streaks in the corner of her eyes as she flew past
them all.
The Dark Goddess was very happy with what she had created. And stayed happy for
a very long time. Until one day as she was flying around, and was looking at all
the beautiful stars and planets, that she started to feel something strange. She
felt sad, that she was the only being that was seeing her creations. And then
she felt something even more distressing. She felt loneliness, for not having
another to share these sights with.
Then the Dark Goddess had a wonderful idea. She would create other creatures on
one of the planets to share all of this wondrous beauty with. She picked one of
her favorite blue planets to start with. There were already luscious forests and
meadows all over the planet. So she knew that the creatures she created would
have plenty to eat and drink. Then she got to working on her children.
First she created creatures that lived in the waters of the planet. She gave
them names, and languages to speak with each other. She created the very tiniest
to the very largest of these creatures, all of them knowing her love and her
touch.
And the greatest of the water creatures she names Whales, and bestowed on them a
wondrous gift. The gift of history. They above all other creatures will know the
beginning and they will know the end. She sang to them her song of freedom
before, when there was only darkness. She sang to them the song of how she
created time and all the stars in the darkness. And then she sang to them of her
sadness and loneliness, so they will know why she created all the creatures of
the world. And she made them one great promise. That she will continue to sing
to them and give them more of her songs through out the ages, but only if they
will continue to sing her songs as long as there is one whale alive. Their job
was to remind all the other creatures of her love for them through the Whale
Song.
The next creatures she created, were the creatures of air. She created many a
beast with great wings. And she created many a tiny insect that flew fast and
busily through the air. They all had their jobs, to create foods, to pollinate
the plants, and to hunt. But none were greater than the Dragons.
The Goddess bestowed upon the Dragons, a great burden. She knew their powerful
souls and shoulders could carry it. They were the keepers of wisdom. She taught
them how the universe worked, and why everything had many purposes. She taught
them about Karma, reincarnation, and the meaning of life. She gave them all of
this wisdom to hold, until others were ready to understand. And then the dragons
were to guide them through these lessons.
The Goddess then started to create all the creatures of the land. From the
tiniest worms digging through the dirt, to the mightiest of the lions and apes.
She made sure that each animal of the land kept in line with the circle of life.
And there were many great and wondrous creatures. But there was one creature,
not the greatest, but the most special, that the Goddess chose to give her gift.
The Unicorn, was her most special of all the creatures. It’s majestic main, and
sparkling horn, proved its magickal presence. To this amazing creature, the
Goddess bestowed the gift of innocence. Innocence of belief in what you can’t
see, innocence of hope without proof, and love without reason. The unicorns
accepted these gifts gladly, for they knew their importance.
Finally the Dark Goddess looked at all that she had done. She saw the beauty and
magic in every single creature she created. She was apart of all of them. And
yet, she wasnt satisfied. There was something missing. She realized that though
all her creatures were beautiful and had purpose, that there was a need for one
more creature to be granted guardianship over all of them. So she created a
creature that resembled herself. This creature would be able to give birth, feed
her daughters of her own body, and would teach them their whole lives. This was
woman! She encompassed all that the Goddess was as the mother.
Then the Dark Goddess pulled apart another creature from the woman, and this she
called man. Man would be the other part of the Dark Goddess, who protects, and
kills when necessary, to take care of woman and her children. And to these two
creatures, she bestowed upon them the responsibility of taking care of the
entire world. It would be their job, and their children’s job, and every
generation from here on, to take care of every creature great and small. To take
care of every plant, and keep the world safe from destruction. And their helpers
would be the three great beasts, the Whale, the Dragon, and the Unicorn. They
would be the human’s guides and teacher to help them through out the centuries.
As the Goddess stepped back and looked at her creations, their beauty awed her.
The Dark Goddess was pleased with her children.
I found this through another persons blog post on Co-Creating Our Reality (thank you Frecia), The Work by Byron Kate. The first thing I did was start the process, which is to fill out a “Judge Thy Neighbor” Worksheet, which asks you to fill in the blanks about someone, dead or alive, that you haven’t forgiven yet. About halfway through the page I realized what the worksheet was all about and starting tearing up.
Several years ago, my brother and my mom had a huge fight, that I was a part of as well. My brother is 12 years older than me and was always my protector and main male role model since I never met my dad (until 5 years ago but that’s a whole nother story). This fight wasn’t just a yelling fight, it came close to being physical, and my brother threw some things around in our house (which we were renting from him) and in our garage. Our neighbors heard the commotion and called the cops out, which luckily my brother had already gone home by the time the cops had gotten there. I think he would have gotten physical witht he police if they had shown up in the middle of his tantrum. Anyway, needless to say, my relationship with my brother has never healed from this.
On the worksheet, I put his name down, and put my feelings down about all of this anger. I knew this was something that was hurting me. I knew this was something that I’ve needed to deal with and let go of. I think a part of me has held onto this because it feels like the only connection I have left with my brother, this anger. But I realized that these feelings, these thoughts that I’m hanging onto are hurting me much more than I realized.
Now, I’m working on the 2nd part of the process which is to turn the thoughts around. What do these thoughts really do for me, and can I believe in a thought that is the exact opposite, just as much as I believe in the thought that is hurting me. I know that I have to find this new thought, because thoughts become things, and I want to choose the good ones. Maybe….. err… I mean definately, when I change these thoughts that I’m having that are hurting me, into thoughts that are good that HELP me, then not only will I be healed, but my mom might be able to start healing from this as well…. and then maybe my brother too. Those are really good thoughts!
I changed my store page and added some widgets. The store is through Amazon, which for now, is the easiest way to add books and other items to my site. So I hope that you’ll visit it.
The first thing you’ll see, underneath the link to the main store page, is the specials that are available. It’s four books that are on sale for around 35% off. I don’t know if those are randomly seleted, so you’ll have to check it out often.
Under that little widget, you’ll see what I consider to be the “Best of the Law of Attraction” & “Books No Pagan Household Should Be Without”. Most of these books are ones that I personally own and has guided me on my own personal journey. Some are ones that I would like to own, but haven’t had a chance to purchase them yet, however I do know enough about each of the books to recommend them to you!
Lastly what you will see is a lovely slideshow of different products for your spiritual journey. Jewelry, altar accessories, herbal products, and much more. I’ve selected many things that I hope will inspire you and help you along your journey or at least will make your journey a little nicer.
Brightest Blessings
Christine
