Author: Please click on this link and rate my poem. I need the money! Plus, I would like to find out if poetry.com is for real. There are a lot of poets that say it’s a big scam, and really it feels like one. They tell you that your poem was chosen for publication, but the only way for you to get the book is to buy it from them for $60, and that’s their early SALE price! Then there are the conventions (which are next month here in Las Vegas), and they charge you an arm and a leg for entering into the convention. Then they want you to pay for your awards. So, yea I think it’s a scam, and if I do win something, they’ll probably charge me for that too!! But still… vote for my poem anyway! LOL

Good luck. Read your comment about wondering if the site was legitimate. I am wondering that also. Since I placed a poem here I have been getting nothing but offers to buy awards they want to give me. If you just do this or that, blah, blah and this is how much your award that you have won will cost you. If the poetry is good, you win an award for that, you don’t pay for it. I am beginning to wish I hadn’t put the poem here. Just today, another offer of some honor. I just sent in one poem, how do I become this famous poet over night with all these honors they want me to buy. Hmm. Again good luck, but don’t get taken in. be aware.

my daughter gave them her poems for years and like you…they wanted to sell her books for $60.00 we have one and said no more.
So, don’t be taken in…
they have it fixed where it is just short of being illegal and just short of being false advertisment..
