I’ve been very pleased with myself, if I may toot my own horn for a moment, because I’ve been able to keep up a positive attitude for a while now. A while = at least 2 weeks, but I haven’t been keeping strict tract. However, sometimes, I hit a bad day, and I get frustrated. I want the Law of Attraction to work FOR me, not against me, but if I keep up my negative thoughts, then only the negative things will come to me. I’ve seen that in action all too often.
So how do I stop feeling bad on a bad day? If I may steal a line from Peter Pan, just think of a happy thought. Any happy little thought. (was it just me or did you hear Wendy singing?) It may sound corny, or cliche’ but, it does work.
Yesterday I was feeling kinda down. Our business is getting off the ground, but our merchant account is going to hurt us. They want to hold onto 20% of our credit card transactions for 6 months…. and they want to do that for 6 months running. Our profit margin is good, but sometimes the permits we’re going to buy are around $1000. So even though the customer is paying for that, and paying our service fee…. we’re still going to have a 20% hold on the total of that order… which will be more than what we’ll be charging as a service fee.
Most of the time, we’ll still be ahead of the game, just the expensive permits will hurt us… we’ll be losing money for 6 months on them. So I have plenty of reason to be a little upset. But I know, that being upset, and holding onto that negative feeling, is going to bring more negative to me. So I HAVE to think of something else to bring to me what I want.
That’s what I did. I started thinking about having money in the bank to pay my bills. I thought about my sons birthdays coming up, where I’ll be able to buy them exactly what I want to, instead of what is good enough and what I can afford. We’ll be able to save for a down payment on a house. We’ll be able to clean up our credit. All of these things are such wonderful thoughts! I couldn’t stop smiling.
No, it doesn’t change the negative things that are happening. You can’t control everything and everyone, and we don’t know what lessons are needing to be learned. But those happy thoughts will help to keep the negative at a bare minimum and will bring solutions to your problems much more quickly.
So to borrow another line from another movie (actually a musical)…. Whenever I feel afraid, I think of a happy thought, and whistle a happy tune, then soon I see I”m not afraid! (100 pts for who ever knows what musical this is from, not an exact quote) or worried, or negative, or unhappy!!
